South Wales ‘Welsh Beauty’ wins ‘Face of the Globe’

A ‘Welsh Beauty’ has taken the International beauty pageant by storm after taking part in a carnival six months before the event, when a judge told her that she should enter the international beauty pageant.

Her mother was obviously wary about the comment contemplating whether she was comfortable with daughter being put forward for the event. After all, beauty pageants can be quite costly, they involve knock backs which aren’t particularly healthy at a young age, and they require time for travel from the parents meaning time off work or flexible hours.

Her mother stated that she didn’t want her daughter to wear make-up but the International Beauty Pageant told her that it was all very natural and it was more about personality than looks. The 43-year-old, who works in events herself, helped her young daughter to complete an online application form and, six weeks later, her daughter was accepted without a doubt.

The heats were held in Cardiff which is where she was chosen to represent Wales in the glitzy grand final in Paris, both her and her mother travelled there together. She is a pupil at Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Pontybrenin in Gorseinon, Wales,  took her sparkly crown into school, where all her teachers and classmates wished her good luck and praised her well done.

Her parents discovered that the finals were in France and were then unsure whether they should travel all that way to the finals, but their daughter was adamant that she wanted to go through with it, after all at the age of 8 – which young girl wouldn’t?

The Welsh Beauty has gorgeous features and jet black hair which I am sure myself she stood out from the crowd, looking cute and happy in her party sash and crown, what stood out even more was her personality and confidence within herself. Her mother said that she has two daughters and they are both completely different. They’re both twins and her sister is very sporty and loves being outdoors whereas the pageant hopeful loves singing and dancing and has dreams since the age of 3 about becoming a singer, preferably on the west end.

Adding to her heart of gold, the youngster raised £240 for the Rainbow Child Foundation by selling loom bands in preparation for the charity fund.

The process before the finals took a week-long final in the October Half term which started with a masked ball in London, which involved a dance lesion with Robin Windsor from the famous dance programme “Strictly Come Dancing”. Following that, the competitors including her had to give speeches about themselves to a panel of judges and complete a fitness camp with Chico Slimani from X-factor.

Herself, her twin, mum and father, finally got themselves to Paris for the finals where on the final day of the competition she competed in a talent competition which involved her singing to the judges. Her parents were incredibly proud when she was classed ‘Face of the Globe’.
Her parents who did their best to keep her grounded and to avoid disappointment did play her hopes down, but her mother stated that she was more shocked than amazed she had won.

More than 5,000 people entered the competition from a range of ages to minis’ to adults.
The ‘Face of the Globe’ winner added: “It was the first time I have ever won anything. The thing I enjoyed most was making new friends and going to Disneyland Paris.” – How sweet?

She will hold the title for 18 months and then return to Disneyland to pass on her crown.
Looking into the future, she said: “I would really like to be a judge, meet lots of new friends and go to lots of places with my crown and party sash.”
